Real Outcomes.
Real Impact.
Jennifer Borrero’s work transforms vision into real-world change — bridging policy, people, and place to create more equitable communities.
Through speaking, advocacy, and development, Jennifer has:
Engaged 500+ emerging leaders across 10+ states through education, fellowships, and community programming
Trained and mobilized 60+ Gen Z leaders with lived experience of housing insecurity to influence local policy and civic spaces
Partnered with 15+ schools and universities to embed housing justice and leadership into classrooms and student organizations

Jennifer’s impact is grounded in lived experience and real implementation. She doesn’t just speak about change — she builds it, documents it, and equips others to lead it.
You don’t need permission to create change — you need a voice, a vision, and a community willing to rise with you.
YOUTH HOUSING COALITION
As the founder of Youth Housing Coalition, Jennifer combines her expertise in Human Rights with her passion for housing justice to mobilize youth to end homelessness. In a world where most underrepresented communities are left out of the decision-making process in their own neighborhoods, Jennifer delivers training on how to implement small scale housing development and put the power back in the hands of the people. In 2023 Jennifer was recognized by Hispanic Executive as a “30 Under 30” nonprofit founder for her work with YHC. Learn more about YHC.
FOOD AND CULTURE
Through her advocacy and sustainability work Jennifer has had the opportunity to serve communities around the world. These stories of traveling have led to discoveries through food, culture and politics. Jennifer works alongside organizations to center an intersectional approach within their work that keeps culture and identity front of mind. Jennifer’s work addresses generational disconnect with nature through storytelling of food and culture.
COMMON GROUND DEVELOPMENT
Through Common Ground Development, Jennifer works to reimagine how housing is built, owned, and experienced at the community level. The organization focuses on acquiring and transforming land into mixed-income, community-centered developments that prioritize long-term affordability, local ownership, and equitable outcomes. By partnering with municipalities, land banks, and developers, Common Ground bridges the gap between vision and execution, ensuring that development is not only financially viable, but socially grounded. At its core, the work is about creating pathways for communities to build wealth, retain culture, and actively shape the future of the places they call home.
DOCUMENTARY SERIES - THIS LAND
Jennifer’s work in documentary storytelling explores the deeper question of who gets to live, build, and belong. Through her docu-series This Land, she examines housing and land as forces that shape economic mobility, cultural identity, and community power. Blending on-the-ground narratives with policy, development, and global perspectives, she uncovers the systems behind affordability, displacement, and opportunity. Her work moves beyond observation—using storytelling as a tool to shift narratives, challenge assumptions, and spark more equitable approaches to how we design and invest in the places people call home.
Let’s Work Together
Whether through speaking, partnerships, or community-rooted development, Jennifer continues to focus on one outcome: empowering people to lead boldly and build solutions that last.
